I had a competition this weekend but my guy was hurt. Long story but sufficed to say we should have called it before we put him on the trailer. The ride to the show pretty much put the nail in his recovery. He had been doing better but all that rattling pushed him backwards.
Life lesson there kiddos. Know when to hold them. Know when to fold them. By pushing we ended up taking 3 steps backward. I (our team) have done similar things on projects too. Pushed forward even when we knew we weren’t ready. Goals are great but keep in mind the Earth is rotating. Let those goals bend when they need to in order to be successful. Hitting the goal and failing isn’t the goal. Re-calibrate as they say. You’ll be ahead in the long run.
